Kindergarten March Newsletter
Literacy- In HMH Module 4, students will learn what we can do to be healthy. The children will read about eating the right foods, staying fit, and getting enough sleep. As we read about good health habits, the students we will also learn about different ways to exercise and the reasons why we need sleep. As a class, we will collaborate to write a “Big Book” so that we can teach others all we have learned about being healthy.
Social Studies- In Unit , 3 Geography, People and the Environment students will explore their community to understand parts of their community, what a community is, and how maps are used to learn more about a community.
Science- In Amplify, the students will continue to work on the Sunlight and Weather Unit. The key concept for this month is when light shines on a surface, the surface gets warmer.
Math- Module 4: Number Pairs, Addition, and Subtraction to 10 - marks the next exciting step in math for kindergarten students: addition and subtraction! Through the exploration of number stories students will learn to understand the concepts of joining and taking apart.
