Fourth Grade Newsletter- March 2026
Literacy- In HMH Module 5, students will build their knowledge about art and creative talents, with a focus on the biography genre. We will read texts and view videos about how far your talents can take you. During this time students will also use close reading strategies to build comprehension and respond to literature.
Social Studies- In Unit 3, Fourth graders will learn about colonial and revolutionary periods. Students will understand the development of the 13 colonies and the events that lead to the birth of our nation.
Science- As students continue to work as marine biologists, they are learning that amplitude is the height of a sound wave. They’ve been experimenting with different sounds to see how changing amplitude affects what we hear—just like ocean animals use louder or softer calls depending on what they need.
Math- Students will continue to work on Module 5: Fraction Equivalence, Ordering, and Operations. Students build a strong understanding of fractions by connecting what they learn in class to situations they see every day. The goal is to help students see fractions not as abstract numbers, but as useful tools for solving real‑world problems.
